The challenge always used to be to find a place that USUALLY had good coffee. Ever since Starbucks and Seattle’s Best had their war in Seattle, which Starbucks won, the proliferation of those little shops you like began. And you can still go to Starbucks and get a really good coffee — better than Cheddar’s or McDonald’s or anyone, except the one or two mom and pop shops that you know.
