Accents to go with my living room?
Hello, I have a little bit of a problem, I have NO sense of style lol…Anyways, in my living room I have lighter wood floors with chocolate brown couches. We just painted our living room walls Stonington Beige by Glidden. Our fireplace has a white mantel with medium beige tile that has speckles of white, brown and greys. Our coffee table is a dark walnut and our tv stand is black…All my picture frames are also black…What color pillows and what color drapes to go with room?? Please HELP!!! Thank you so much
Pick your favorite colour, everything you have now is neutral. Be bold, these are just accent pieces and can be easily changed out when you’re ready for a little something new.
Some suggestions:
lavender
tiffany blue or sky blue
pink(not pastel!)
chartreuse
really, the sky’s the limit with such a neutral foundation. Look to your wardrobe for inspiration, if you have a favorite patterned blouse with chocolate in it, draw from that.
Remember, most stores have a return policy, if you get it home and don’t like it take it back and try something different.
Most of all have fun, your room should reflect your personality, not what some magazine or television show told you! Use these and friends for inspiration, but don’t let them interfere with the real you and your lifestyle!
