I am a student and I built a granite coffee table at my dad’s granite shop to supplement my cash needs. I had this idea a week ago and I made a table during the week. I put a lot of hard work into this table, but I also want to make it affordable. Is $250 a fair price? Would you buy it if you were in the need of a coffee table? I have a brown micro-fiber sectional couch in my living room. In the past, I had maroon curtains and black picture frames. My coffee table, and side tables were a mahogany color. I’ve asked a couple questions about my living room but haven’t gotten many answers so I’m posting again. I have settled on a “coastal” theme with blues and whites for my living room. I live in a rented apartment, so walls are white, carpet is taupe. I have a brown leather sofa, chair, and ottoman, and wooden coffee table and bookshelves in the room. I’ve added some blue and white pillows, some shell shaped votives, and some framed photos of beach vacations. I tend to like decor that is traditional, but with clean lines and a modern sensibility. Any ideas for me?
I’m envisioning something island-y but not too tropical, like a seaside lounge in Capri… if that helps. The room gets tons of natural light.
It sounds like you have a great start.
I would add a tropical or big leafed plant or two in bamboo baskets.
Maybe some white distressed accessories like a wooden dish filled with different seashells for your coffee table and small picture frames to set amongst your books on your bookshelf.
Add some soft sheer flowy curtains.
