There is a clear, glossy spray called Ceramicoat. It looks like a china glaze when dry. You can buy it at a craft store or at a Walmart. If it is a valuable collector’s signature that you want to preserve, I would be more inclined to take it to a china store and have it done professionally.

thinking about opening a coffee shop. is there any tips from coffee shop owners out there?
i have a few ideas of what i want to do, like new drinks, design, policies, ect.
things i’m still not sure on like the brands of coffee to look for, the pros and cons of roasting your own coffee,
i love sumatra, and kona, but wasnt sure who roasted the beans.
approximately how much is all the equipment necessary to open/ minimal space you need to operate.
its going to be in a small town in southern california, where the only real competition would be starbucks. pfft. they claim to sell gourmet coffee. lol.
also what brands of espresso machines, blenders, ice makers, ect. fo you trust and that are reliable?
all these aspects i am unfamiliar with and would love some of your guys’ input

I would really love to be in a coffee shop that looks more like strarbucks. It is cozy and feels more like home. I am not really sure about coffee flavors, but I would recommend that you use a capresso espresso machine because it is a very durable and easy to use brand. I was instructed to get a burr grinder and a maker. Now I have them, but I’m not sure about what kind of coffee to get. How do I tell if beans are already roasted? Does it make a difference? I have some beans that I bought a year ago; are they still good? See, I thought that the benefit of getting a grinder was that I could buy whole beans and they would last a lot longer than the pre-ground bags that I had been getting. Was I mistaken? no your right , whole beans will last a lot longer being whole , when you grind them you break up the hard outer kernel that protects all the coffee beans flavor inside. roasted beans are always a brown color , fresh coffee beans come in green and red varieties and don’t become brown until they are slowly roasted for color and flavor. a grinder is a great thing to have . yes beans go bad after about a year , I would buy some new fresh roasted beans for a great cup of coffee.
