What roast of coffee is good for turkish coffee?

I recently purchased the turkish coffee pot and a bag of the finely ground coffee used for making it. I’m already about to run out of the coffee and I’m wondering what kind of roast I should get. The last coffee I got was actually imported from turkey. Is it necessary to use a blend of coffee that is imported from turkey or is it the way the coffee is made that makes it turkish? Any suggestions from people who know what they are talking about would be helpful.

You can use any roast as long as it is grounded up properly.

I’d also suggest you get a small coffee mill like this one:

Dessert REcipe that uses sour cream?

i have alot of sourcream i need to use up, i have company coming and want something good/tried and true. i’ve found pound cake and coffee cake. anything else?? any recipes??

Cinnamon Nut Sour Cream Cake

2 sticks butter/margarine
2-1/4 cups sugar
1 tsp vanilla
6 eggs
1 cup sour cream

3 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda

1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
1/4 cup sugar

Melt butter in microwave, add 2-1/4 cups sugar & beat with electric mixer on medium; until light and fluffy.

Blend in vanilla and eggs.

Add flour mixture – alternating with sour cream.

In a separate bowl, mix cinnamon, sugar, and walnuts.

Grease and flour a bundt cake pan. Add 1/2 the batter. Spread cinnamon, sugar, and walnut mixture throughout the center. Top with remaining batter.

Bake @ 325 for 1 hr & 15 mins.

Remove and cool on a wire rack.

Drizzle with a powdered sugar/milk sugar glaze, if desired.

(Powdered sugar glaze = 1 cup confectioners sugar & 1 tablespoon milk).
