An opinion question: Christmas gifts for non-Christians?

I’d like to get a few little Christmas presents for the people I work with this year. It’s my first Christmas with this company, so I don’t know what the norm is. I work with a lot of middle Eastern people, from Egypt, Lebanon, Iran, etc. I’m wondering if it would be acceptable or appreciated to give these non-Christian-holiday-celebrating people a Christmas gift. It wouldn’t be Christmas-themed, more like a personalized coffee mug or something like that.

You don’t have to give them as Christmas gifts. My husband gives New Year gifts so that he doesn’t offend anyone at his office. It doesn’t have to be anything expensive. It can be something specific for each person or go with a winter theme. I don’t know how many people you have in your office but you may thing about bringing some sweets o favors.

How do I remove coffee taste from my travel mug?

I’m a tea drinker, and someone at the office used my favorite travel mug with a plastic liner for coffee…only once, and, yuck! My tea tastes like coffee! I know it’s the oils in the coffee. Anyone know how to remove them?

Baking soda and vinegar might do the trick. I’ve found what works best, though, is a denture cleaner tablet and hot water! Let it sit for a couple of hours. The tablets are also good for removing tea stains from mugs.

What all do I need to start a pottery hobby?

I want to take up making unique coffee mugs and dinner sets by way of either ceramic mold or thrown on a wheel. And one day hope to turn it into a business. How much would I need to purchase and what items could be used by paying someone (atleast to begin with) (say for instance the kiln) Do you recommend any books on this topic?

For molding you need molds, for throwing you need a wheel.
The clays used for each method are of a different composition.
Since they must be glazed to be liquid proof, you would also need a kiln for baking. (A household oven can be used in a some cases, with special materials designed for this.)
Suggest you visit your local library and ask the librarian about books on the subject BEFORE you start spending money.
