Solid Oak Coffee Table
I am building a coffee table using 3/4 oak plywood. How do you make rounded corners using solid oak ? cjd?
I plan to use 2×3/4″ oak and route a decorative edge for the table.
To make the rounded corners, the easiest way is to attach the oak to the plywood, then lay out your radius on the joined pieces. Cut it close to the line with a jigsaw, then sand it to the line. Another option is to make a jig with the radius and cut it with your router. If you cut it close with the jigsaw first, you should be able to make the finish cut with one pass. This will give you an edge that is perfectly square to the top. Then change to an edging bit to finish it. Hope this helps.
